Brenda Barnes serves as the Director of Law Firm Financial Analysis & Valuations for The Law Practice Exchange where she seamlessly guides clients through the valuation process. With an innate understanding of best practices in law firm accounting and financial management, Brenda’s primary role is to ensure that all clients have a fair and reasonable analysis completed on the value of their firms. Brenda has 35 years of experience working with attorneys and firms, and this depth of experience enables her to deliver relevant insights about the financial infrastructure of law firms. Additionally, her combined expertise in attorney compensation and succession planning allows her to provide comprehensive guidance to LPE clients. 

Brenda, a CPA and MBA, is also the founder of B2 Management & Consulting and is a legal and accounting professional with decades of experience working with solo to mid-sized law firms across the United States. Prior to launching B2, Brenda served in the capacity of Firm Administrator in the Austin, Texas area. During this time, she was active in the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) and served in many leadership roles.  She is Past President of the Austin Chapter.

Brenda is a frequent guest speaker and panelist, addressing topics that are relevant to the effectiveness and efficiency of law firm practices. She is also the co-author of a book titled RESPECT: An Insight to Attorney Compensation Plans.

Recognized by her peers, law firm managing partners, and the business community, Brenda has been nominated for, and has been the recipient of, numerous awards. Some of these include her nomination by the Austin Business Journal for the “Profiles in Power” series in 2013, 2014, and 2017 and her award for “Best Outsourced Support Company” by Texas Lawyer in 2018, 2019, and 2020.

Brenda and her partner have moved from Austin to NE Texas to enjoy their lake property now that their 4 kids are in their 20s. She loves to fish, host campfires with family and friends, and listen to live music.
