Camille Stell

Camille Stell has spent her career working in the legal profession and the last decade building an expertise in succession planning.

Camille’s work with lawyers includes helping them determine a path forward whether it’s winding down a practice, transitioning ownership inside the practice, or finding an outside buyer for the firm. She creates succession plans, transition plans for new law firm owners, and serves as a buy-side advisor in the buy and sell of a law practice.

While there are plans, and contracts, and loan documents to be completed, she never forgets the emotional side of the transaction. How is this transition going to impact staff? How will it affect the retiring lawyer and their family? What are the challenges the buying lawyer will face? Camille will be by your side to help you through the process.

Camille is a Fellow in the College of Law Practice Management, serves on the NC Pro Bono Resource Center Advisory Board, and the Advisory Group for the Duke Law Tech Lab.

Camille is a frequent author and speaker on designing modern law firms and guiding lawyers through succession planning and Life after Law. She is also the co-author of Designing a Succession Plan for your Law Practice: A Step-by-Step Guide for Preparing Your Firm for Maximum Value, published in 2021.
